What a book! I have to say, I liked it very much, it was a very enjoyable experience reading it through by audio and discussing it with my favorite goodreads group Classics of the Western Canon!
I recently read Catherine the Great: Portrait of a Woman by Robert K. Massie before reading W&P, and I’d definitely recommend for others to do so as well because it gave me a sense of how France and European culture overtook Russia, while W&P helps you understand how it was expelled. :-)

Tolstoy's writing is great and full of life, but...just about four hundred pages too long.
