I don't normally write reviews but the rating deserves explanation.
How much I loved to hate Emma. I wanted to hate this book but it was so beautifully written with such imagery that I loved reading it. I only wish I knew French so I could read it in the original words.
I went through the book wondering how it would be different if Emma was a man (compare her to Homais and her lovers and you'll see what I mean). At the same time, I wanted to slap Emma for not realizing everything that she had.
