What Members Thought

A critique on modernity, consumerism, even science. As such it has value.
It plays a bit on these dualities: tame/wild, society/individual, materialism/spirituality, the Bourgeoisie/the Savage, and so on; but nothing profound.
I do not find it well written. Characters and storyline are rather trite, and over all like putty caricatures.
I found references to Shakespeare tacky, and the repetitive use of the word 'crimson' annoying.
But in spite of all its shortcomings some merit remains. (Brave New ...more
