What Members Thought

I came across this book while walking through the library.. I remembered that my friend Katie loved that book, so I picked it up.
The story is seen through the eyes of a girl (I think she is around 8 to 11 years old). She comes from a well to do white family, but lives in a period of time, when blacks had won their freedom yet they were oppressed.
Her innocent approach to the cruelties in the lives of others around her, as well as her point of view, are absolutely heartbreaking and refreshing.
