This is an important Dystopian book that greatly influenced George Orwell's 1984. His review of the book is here: http://orwell.ru/library/reviews/zamy...

I did not find "We" as interesting as 1984, probably because the narrator is a mathematician who views the whole universe in mathematical terms. Since I do not, the constant reference to math was tiresome and incomprehensible.

A fantastic dystopian novel. The language is both poetically mesmerizing and rich, the plot and symbols are very well thought out, and the characters are fantastic. I'm not sure if it should be described as a "sci-fi" novel, as the actual "science" isn't incredibly well-developed (an operation to remove the imagination, for instance - how is that possible?), but as symbols, they work beautifully.
