Overblown, excessively wordy, far fetched, and tedious.

Not really sure why I did it, but I have officially put a Thomas Hardy book back on my to-read shelf, although thanks to a combination of research on my part and the word of trusted sources, I think Far from the Madding Crowd is actually one of Hardy's less-intense novels. Good gracious! I can't even type "happier." I have to settle for "less intense."

Unconventional love story where a woman actually hold the control in the relationship (although it is not the case in latter part of the book).
