After years, I've finally come across a book again that's given me the urge to pick up a highlighter. I never usually highlight my books but damn.. Nabokov's sentences are pure beauty. His characters and pacing let this novel down a bit, but I'd still highly recommend Lolita based on the writing and themes alone.

A mildly uncomfortable ride throughout; having said that, it contains some of the most wonderful prose I have ever read. Nabokov had his work cut out to make the sordid life a sociopathic pedophile worthy of reading, but with his explosive prose his does so in this, lamentable tale of unreciprocated love.
