A re-read to coincide with my reading of Everybody Behaves Badly: The True Story Behind Hemingway's Masterpiece The Sun Also Rises. I remember really enjoying this book when I was younger. It was the bullfighting and the festival I think not the characters. I enjoyed it somewhat less this time around. And even less after reading some of the background behind the book. Após o terminar, fiquei preso a ele durante muito tempo, em parte por não conseguir perceber se gostei de o ler ou não.
Por um lado amei a escrita direta do autor que me prendeu por horas seguidas de leitura durante a noite. Por outro lado, esperava que a história tomasse um rumo diferente e em último cenário terminasse num pensamento filosófico sobre a celebração de corridas de touros.
Mas percebo que este livro seja categorizado como um romance, até porque se comporta como um. Definitivamente ir ...more

O my word...this novel. I feel like the disillusioned and lost generation after reading it! Hemingway's motto: "Eat, drink, and be merry for tomorrow we may wake up impotent." Sorry Hemingway. I too, wanted to run with the bulls!
