I confess that I didn't do justice to this book because because I'm one of those people who read several books at one time. The difficulty arises in the fact that the story isn't told linearly and there are several characters with similar names. Because of these things, I got lost a few times when I jumped into another book and then back into this one.

Loved it whilst I was reading it. Structure, content and character wise it was like stepping into another world. Garcia is a magnificent writer; but for some reason I didn't like it. I can't put my finger on quote why that is, maybe my expectations were too high from reading Love in the time of Cholera. ...more
