2015 Reading Challenge

I have my misgiving to magical realism genre due to my experience reading Kafka on the Shore because I feel in that book all magical things are there just for embellishment. However, I found One Hundred Years of Solitude to be vastly different. Every symbolism and magical occurrences are there and tied to the history of Colombia. No wonder the book is a magnum opus of the late Gabo.
