I don't even know how to begin this review because I loved everything about this book! I'm so in awe of it, words escape me! I'm not kidding, this was the best epic fantasy book I have read in a long, long time. The characters were so well developed and fleshed out that after finishing the book, I miss them! I want to re-read it right away just so I can get my daily dose of them! There were too many to mention, because imp I received this book free of charge from a Goodreads First Reads giveaway.

I don't even know how to begin this review because I loved everything about this book! I'm so in awe of it, words escape me! I'm not kidding, this was the best epic fantasy book I have read in a long, long time. The characters were so well developed and fleshed out that after finishing the book, I miss them! I want to re-read it right away just so I can get my daily dose of them! There were too many to mention, because important characters were being added throughout the book. The main character would be Kiameron, who was a prince who didn't want to be a king, who found out that he was so much more than that. He had to dig way down deep to come to terms with who he really was, in order to save a lot of people. But there were so many additional characters who helped him along the way, who were just as important to the story.

The plot is too big to talk about, because I refuse to give away one little thing that happens. So much happens, and there are so many twists and turns, that I want the readers to discover everything themselves, just the way I did. This is one of those books where certain people start out on a quest, but everyone gets split up into mini-quests, people get separated, come back together, get separated again, and it all comes together in an awesome way. Each group picks up more people along the way, some live, some die, but nothing is ever wasted. The plot moves along at a great pace. Relationships have time to develop, but in a way that neither action nor emotion take precedence, everything just happens as it should.

I know this is a confusing review, as the book was really long and involved and there was too much happening to do it justice, but let me just say this: This book is worth every second you spend reading it! If I could have given it 10 stars I would have! It reminds me a bit of the Shannara books and the Wheel of Time books, in the epic way that they are written.
