THIS BOOK is easily in my TOP 5 for 2011.

The Hook

Within the first 10 pages, there is no doubt that Angelfall is going to be different than other books you’ve read with similar tag lines. You’ve seen angel books or apocalyptic YA with a young female main character and a budding romance with a paranormal hottie. What you haven’t seen necessarily are opening sentences like this one.

Great entertainment! I had to read it in one sitting and am now busy fantasizing about what might happen in Book 2. I love that the author didn't go all fluffy with the angel theme; there are paranoid schizophrenics, violent street gangs, cannibalism, paramilitary rebel groups, and hidden labs with sick experiments in Ee's post-apocalyptic world. I've been wanting to read this book for a long time, but just never got around to it until now. I really enjoyed it. I loved Penryn. She was an awesome lead character. Raffe was a mystery I was dying to learn more about. I still want to know more about his past, and I am very interested to discover what will happen next for him. Penryn's mother was interesting. The whole world that the author created was rather enjoyable. It was dystopian/apocalyptical, with angels as the bad guys/invaders. I am ...more
