Well, I tried. The premise was interesting but the execution didn't work for me. I made it to Sonmi's story and just was. not. interested.

To dive too much into this book, whether its story or its mechanics, is to rob it of some of its impact. I will say, briefly, that the chiasmic tale reminded me of something Italo Calvino might have written after spending a weekend with Kurt Vonnegut, but with more hope and an even more amazing grasp of the English language's evolution and devolution.

Fascinating read, although I do find myself wondering more how the world got the way it did in the future.
