I liked this more than I expected. Early on, I felt tired of the physically competent, socially awkward hero; but the further in the story went, I enjoyed the side commentary, and the morality of the main character. And who wouldn't love Princess Donut. Nice hints of a bigger story behind the told story. Dinneman has a fairly good ear for when to detail the fights, and when to elide over them. Very does-what-it says-on the tin. If you like the look of the tin, that’s what it tastes like. Pretty tin, so I enjoyed it but won’t go on as I think it will be more of the same. If I get a craving for that flavor, I will know where to go.
