I came across this book while browsing Goodreads awards 2023 nominees and the score it had made me curious enough to start reading it. Once I picked it up I could not put it down. For 3 days I read wherever I could, in the car, tram, even on the elevator. Had I finished it earlier I would have changed my vote for Fantasy book of the year. Excellent world building, vivid characters and the story is really amazing. Highly recommend and can't wait for next book. ...more

Unpopular opinion alert! I tried to get through this twice and failed (though I did make it to 60% before giving up this time.)

The Will of the Many has a very strong start. I really enjoyed meeting our main character and learning about the world. Unfortunately, the main character, Vis, was a bit too perfect. I didn't enjoy being in his head either. All this combined with the first person present tense made this feel like a YA fantasy to me, which unfortunately I was just not in the mood for. Lo
