Whether you read SF or not, Ray Bradbury writes beautifully. His style is dreamy and lyrical, satirical and funny, and at times creepy as hell.

I already had The Martian Chronicles on my GoodReads shelf with a four star rating. That was nostalgia. I read all of Bradbury's work when I was in junior high and loved it all with a love that only a 13 year-old can muster. Fast forward nearly forty years and I got a copy of the audiobook for $4.95 through one of Audible's sales. It turns out that I'd forgotten nearly the entire book. I read it after hearing the news of Bradbury's death and realised again what a great writer has passed away. While it can be considered a science fiction and fantasy hybrid, it address so many human issues, starting from religion, racism, loneliness etc. that it becomes a sociological piece. While the science is quaintly outdated, the universal appeal is still there, and will remain so, as a mark of a true classic.
