What Members Thought

This is not an amazing 5 star read for me, but very close to it. I am not the biggest fan of space novels or movies, or stories of war and political struggles, but it is through all all of these things that this book gives some insight into our current times. This is not a book written anywhere near the year we are living in yet it feels relevant. "Ender's Game" wasn't the first sci-fi book I've read and surely won't be the last.
At first, I thought that its narrative was pretty slow and rather unspectacular, at least from todays perspective.
It might be that the incredible reputation that precedes the sci-fi classic boosted my expectations in a way that I finally ended up finding the book rather mediocre. I don't mean that in a negative manner though, but rather in a neutral way.
