Gaiman is a master of in-between places, cultivating uncertainty and the unseen.
I think that having a background in folklore really added to my enjoyment of the book, and that you must be in the right place to find pleasure in the pages. The gods in the novel are ancient ones, doing battle with modern gods (media, computers, etc) and there is much that takes place in a dream time state.
Save this book for when you have time for meandering and you will appreciate it all the more. Think of it as ...more
