So that's the 3rd read.
It still deserve more than 5 stars
It's still fantastic and honestly even more so.
I don't know if it is just me but this 3rd time around it hit differently, but a good different. And those final moments hit me so much harder. I felt it, I could see it and I am so happy that I'm planning on diving into The Great Hunt very soon. That's why I read this again, because I never move on in series or I take years in between but not this year. This is the year of the series.

Okay, the length of these books always scared me. But since I read all of the Song of Ice and Fire books last year I can't use that as an excuse not to read them anymore. So anyway, this book was confusing at first. I had to read the index to get a better understanding of the lore and backstory. Will check out the next book in the series.

The story gums up sometimes, and things can be ... uneventful.
And the timelines of separated parties mash-up in ways they really shouldn't. One group is on the trail for weeks, another for what seems to be only a day and a half ...
Still, this book is clearly a classic for a reason.

I haven't read all that much epic fantasy. But if this book is an indication of what I've missed, I will be reading more. This was almost non-stop action throughout its over seven hundred pages. I really enjoyed this book.
