A great book if more a collection of linked stories than a single straightforward novel. Important to read for anyone especially whites in America. It is fiction but much of it is based deeply on actual fact and history - history told in a way that is rarely seen or encountered by white Americans. I’m familiar with Lovecraft but only second hand - horror isn’t what I usually read so have never read his books.

This book was fantastic.

"Lovecraft Country" is arguably Matt Ruff's best book, and I loved "Fool On The Hill". Matt Ruff seems to get better with each book. This one has a bit of everything that Matt is known for; humor, fantasy, science fiction and gritty realism. It's all here.

Very, very interesting. While parts make you spitting mad the combination of historical fiction and fantasy are wonderful.
