That was an interesting read with complex characters and interesting politics. It was also refreshingly non-european.
While there were good points about the story there was also the issue that this is not my kind of story, I don't really like mobster stories. This to me read as a mobster story with a tinge of magic. SO GOOD!!! The characters are well rounded and sympathetic, the story engaging, and the action well paced. Can't wait for the next book! Casino meets Jade Empire.
