I quite liked the beginning and the end, but the middle sagged a bit for me. Something about interminable isolation, loneliness and overwhelming fear for the safety of one's child was a little rough to get through in early 2021... ...more

This started off really good, but overall I was pretty disappointed with it. It felt like 90% of the book was tell, not show, and that can get really boring.
