This review is ONLY FOR THE ILLUSTRATIONS in the last year's Illustrated Edition marking the 20th anniversary of A Game of Thrones, and not the novel itself, like are you kidding me, this is the best fantasy series of all time!

It is amazing the amount of details contained in the three story lines in the series. All three wonderfully interwoven and yet, continue on their own. I can't believe it took me this long to 'discover' such a great series.

Real rating: 3.5.
Well, it seems everyone already knew what the story is, so I just go on sharing how I feel about this book.
A little bit too black and white for me. The good ones are too good, the evil ones are too evil. Not saying that there are no grey characters, though. As usual, I tend to root for the underdog character.
I like that this book does not hesitate in hammering this idea into the reader's head: you can be honest, idealistic, and honorable; but without cunning, you will be dead. ...more

3/4 of the way through the book I just realized that I didn't think any of the characters were likeable.
