I love this series. At first this one takes a while to get moving, but once you reach a certain point, it just never lets up!

The powerful opening to a modern classic fantasy series. This is Tolkein's moody hyper-violent and conniving older sibling. ...more

Ho. Lee. CRAP. After watching the first episode of the HBO show, I ran out and grabbed this book and my GAWD it's one of the best novels I've read EVER. This baby goes right to the top of my all-time favorites along with Rushdie, ...more

I really struggled to get through this book. There were so many point of view characters that by the time I would get back to one person's story I could no longer remember what was going on.

Martin writes well but I don't care for his story design or plotting so I will not be continuing with th

WOW, using a words of another reviewer, this book is like the Sopranos meets Middle Earth. The story has some major shockers and it's really hard to put down! I'm looking forward to diving into the second book in the series. ...more
