(4.0) I liked it, felt like a continuation (and deeper exploration) of Bradbury's Mars-related work
I had just read a bunch of Bradbury, so that's probably why I kept thinking back to him while reading this. Feels like a novel that fits somewhere into the 'history' of post-nuclear exchange on Earth and colonization of Mars.

I don't know what to say about this book. On the one hand, it was an interesting sci-fi story. On the other hand, I feel like I failed to really grasp what the whole thing was really about. I know that any book by Philip K. Dick has some sort of deeper meaning, but here it sat right below the surface and never really showed itself to me. Oh well. At least it was a quick and mostly entertaining read.

It has interesting themes, especially concerning empathy and what makes someone human, but the Portuguese translation lacks some of that empathy and everything seems bland and superficial. I have yet to finish the book in English, but I'm enjoying it much more in the original language.
