And I have finished this masterpiece.

The Name of the Wind gripped me into it's web and held me like a book hasn't done in some time. I ate, slept, breathed this book. I needed, not wanted, but actually felt like I needed to be reading it, when I wasn't I wished I was. I have loved many stories, I have given many 5 stars. But not all have made me feel as if I needed it to survive.

A new favorite, that will be loved over and over again.

I was prepared to give four stars at least when I started reading it. I only read one novella from Rothfuss so far and it got me hooked to his eloquent writing. I give this book a 4 star rating because of the fun story of the University: the admission tests, the classes, the skills to be learned, the hanging out with good friends, the colourful teachers, the hard times Kvothe had as a student while having no money at all, and the LIBRARY (or let's say the lack of long description of it! I assume in Book 2 Kvothe will be kicked out soon since the very beginning of the book, so maybe the small glimpse in Book 1 is the only glimpse we have of the legendary ...more

Quite excellent. I love the way this is written. I feel like Kvothe is an arrogant MFer but these people exist in the world. Lots of parallels to past trauma and dealing with life. Weird relationship issues I can identify with. Thanks for nudging me to read this...
