And I have finished this masterpiece.
The Name of the Wind gripped me into it's web and held me like a book hasn't done in some time. I ate, slept, breathed this book. I needed, not wanted, but actually felt like I needed to be reading it, when I wasn't I wished I was. I have loved many stories, I have given many 5 stars. But not all have made me feel as if I needed it to survive.
A new favorite, that will be loved over and over again.

I was prepared to give four stars at least when I started reading it. I only read one novella from Rothfuss so far and it got me hooked to his eloquent writing. This book started really strong, I really enjoyed it but my pace was ruined everytime the main character bumped into his girl (which were ALOT) and the story became so YA emo romance (read: friggin boring).

Interesting book. Good story telling. Interesting his take on magic in this, tying it into the world in a more believable, limited, way. You also see complexity in the characters, how a guy can turn into the thing he's pretending to be if he stays at it long enough.
