Normally, coming of age stories are not my favorite, but the Tamaki women have made this LGBTQ / teen alienation / suicide / high school tale of growing up a transfixing masterpiece, influenced by Kabuki art, and written like an abstract play, conveyed as it is mostly through diary entries. Recommended to anyone 14 and up, thinks I.
