Some of the smartest friends I have liked this book a lot. It's a real easy read, so for Auster fans, a good one to judge for yourself. I found myself wanting a lot more description, story telling and thought put into the book. It's possible to read into this book quite a bit and get more out of it than I did, but before you get the chance the writing may frustrate you.

The second thing I've read by Auster, and I'm inclined to read a lot more of his stuff. Some really great character portraits, great ruminations on the character of a city. I wanted the book to go on further than it did, but I really love that Auster stuck to the making the book about a place AND time - nothing more.
