This was good and it had an intriguing story. Mr. Penumbra's 24-hour book store is very odd because not only is it open 24 hours but it doesn't stock a lot of best sellers and it has a library component where members of a club borrow these odd books. ...more

enjoyed this novel based around a bookstore in san Francisco where strange things happen and an old puzzle. can see this being a book which you either love or dislike

How cool is this book? That is the question that I want answered right now..... my answer; totally, absolutely and completely awesome. It is a must read for every book worm out there. I'm SO glad that it is one of the new Waterstones Book Club titles; this should give so many extra chances to push this amazing book into people's hands. Oh dear, I am definitely in the minority here but did not like this book, didn't even finish it! Looking at the rave reviews, I'm convinced I must have had a different book and I tried both kindle and audio.
