Firstly, I had this on audio and I recommend that you don't listen to this book whilst driving to work! Crying and driving don't mix and the boss wondered if I was fit for work.
BUT The Fault in Our Stars is beauifully written, realistic with great characterisation, and some "gallows humour".

A few year's ago i randomly picked up a book from a friend's shelf ... 24 hour's later i'd finished it and my eye's were raw, my heart was heavy and even just thinking about it now make's me feel extremely sad ... that book was the emotional punch that is My Sister's Keeper and i vowed never to read another Jodi Picoult book again in my life. Not as great as I thought. This book was okay. Hazel Grace and August Waters were cute and witty. Their relationship and the way they dealt with their illnesses was admirable. As a mother of 2 young children, I related more to the parents in this book than to the main characters. Probably would have liked it more if I had read this book in my 20s/teens ( as its YA book)

Really enjoyed this book - may be a quick read but also emotional, funny and so sad in places. Very likeable and quirky characters. I shall be looking out for more from this author.
