Oh, how do I review this without any spoilers? I think short and sweet is the key. Disturbing in oh so many ways (as is any good Flynn book) and completely unputdownable. The only reason I could not bring myself to give this five stars was that a certain vile someone did not get what I felt was owing to them in the end. It's scary to think that there are human beings in this world who live, think and act like the characters in this novel, but the sad fact is that it is true. However, they don't ...more

For me this was a victim of it's own hype: the actual story struggled to live up to the thing I had heard about it. There is a good storyline, some great twists and some really enjoyable nasty characters. The "just 3 stars" does not mean I didn't like it, but 4 stars is too high since I had to remove 1 star for pace, frustration and lack of credibility and a further star for a disappointing end/resolution.

This book is compelling and scary and to say more would give the game away, but if you like psychological thrillers and can cope with reading about unlikable characters, you'll enjoy it.

Outstandingly compusive reading !! I couldn't put this book down ... from the first page you are gripped with 'what on earth has gone on here' ?? ... as usual i won't just simply repeat the back cover blurb as those people are professionals that are paid to do it & do it well ... also, you can't really say too much without giving the game away. This story not only cranks up the tension chapter by chapter but page by page .. there's twists & turns all over the place .. the set up is good and the ...more
