Upside - Rich in imaginary and elegantly written. It took me back to the history and the place I had very little knowledge about. The cultural aspects like the Japanese arts, woodblock cutting and tattooing was fascinating to read. The experience reading through the descriptions of gardens, smells, mountains in Eng's writing style was enchanting.
