But one day, he sees Olivia, and her eyes are the same eyes he’s been remembering for the past 15 centuries. Morganna’s. He believes her to be the witch who cursed him. However Olivia is just an American human, who has moved to London in search of her heritage. After the death of her mother she finds out who her father is and goes to London to find him. And she does find out where she came from, as she is descendant of Morganna Le Fay.

I really like the premises of this whole new world. There’s magic, there’s fae. I enjoyed the fact that the book had a mystery feel to it, with a lot of twists and turns, and I didn't expect how things would turn out and unfold, which was great! The one scene in the hallway with Bram walking up the stairs (great!). And towards the end where there’s more action it got really good.

I thought Marrock was a bit of a brute, I understand why he’s bitter, I understand why he doesn’t have any personal relations skills, so in a way I thought he was cute in his big brute ways. He does have issues with trusting Olivia, and although understandable, I thought they went on too long. The lack of communication and mistrust was getting a bit frustrating at times, but I could see Marrocks point completely.

I liked Olivia just fine. She struggles with believing that Marrock can love her, even after they perform the mating ritual. This also felt a bit repetitive. Onto the other characters: I LOVED Bram! Sabelle and Ice, I could see some sparks maybe in the future. Shock, he's hot and I'm still confused (and that's all I'm going to say). Caden, sounds very promising ;)

I loved the ending and how things fell into place and I'm looking forward to book 2. ...more

Imagine being mated to a sexy warrior with whom you must have sex in order to stay alive. Sounds like a plan to me.

Ms. Black continues to prove herself as the reigning queen of erotic romance, with her passionate tales. This is the first of the Doomsday Brethren series and I can't wait to read the next book of this sexy, paranormal tale of magickind, wizards and witches. I could not put this down! The brethren are are all handsome, sexy and they also do magic! Throw in a gorgeous immortal who's been cursed by a powerful witch to live out eternity without benefit of sexual satisfaction and a lovely young witc ...more

Marrok has been cursed with immortality and centuries later he is out for vengeance. Marrok believes he has found the witch who can help him when he abducts Olivia. What will happen when they fall for each other? Will they discover a way to lift the curse? Entertaining read with loads of drama, suspense and twists and turns. Great characters with sizzling chemistry and an entertaining read. I look forward to more in the series. I liked it.

The first book in the series about the Doomsday Brethren. Marrok has spent centuries cursed by Morganna, and now he finally sees a chance to be free when he encounters Olivia, Morgannas descendant and a Witch-to-be. They both get help and assistance by a group of Magickind fighting against Mathias, and they´ll need it. He´s one evil mastermind. Love the series and love Shayla Blacks writing =)
