I listened to the audiobook and found it an interesting story. The intensity of losing a child was well portrayed and I felt bad for Abby having to deal with the guilt over losing her fiancé’s daughter. I admired how she was determined to find her and would not let go. At times it was very contemplative yet often a bit slow. I may have actually skipped through some of it if I was actually reading it. (view spoiler) ...more

I tried so hard to plug along with this book, but ultimately could not finish it. I was almost half way through it, around page 175, when I decided it wasn’t really worth it. It sounds like a good story, but there is so much “filler” that my brain was screaming for ANYTHING to get the plot moving again. I guess I will google it to see if it was ever redone cinematically. I know! Not the same, but I’d like an idea of what happens at the end. 😝

Very intense story. Much of it is the lead character's intense introspection. Trying to find some sense in things. Trying to remember things that may be super important.

The subject matter is right out of a Jodi Picoult story but isn't a copy of Picoult's style.
