Trouble in Mudbug by Jana DeLeon is the first book in the Ghost-in-Law Mystery series. Botanist Maryse Robicheaux attends her mother-in-laws funeral only to see her ghost rise from her coffin and Maryse is the only one that can see her. She discovers that her mother-in-law Helena Henry was murdered and that being a beneficiary in her will, it appears that some-one is after Maryse as well. I loved this book. Maryse Robicheaux is a botanist for the state of LA and doing some plant research on the side in hopes of finding a cure for cancer. Her office is suddenly invaded by Luc LeJeune, ‘zoologist’ sent by the state to share her office. Luc is really undercover trying to identify an informant who told them about a chemical company’s waste dumping in the bayou and then stopped contacting them. They think it might be Maryse. Trouble in Mudbug by Jana Deleon was a cute cozy mystery. There are lots of crazy characters, the least who is the mother-in-law ghost. Mayrse Robecheaux is a strong leading lady and I loved the name Luc Lejeune for the leading man. Some mysteries were solved but there remains one big one.....
