Maybe I expected too much from this book, but I found it extremely disappointing. The premise is that Cliff Janeway is a tough Denver cop who is also obsessed with the world of finding valuable books. Should be just my cup of tea. The first problem is that everyone in this book is obsessed with books. I was reminded of The Fountainhead where everyone went around discussing architecture. What's not to like here? A former homicide detective who becomes a book dealer, and is drawn into doing some sleuthing on his own when people around him start dying. It's the kind of setting and protagonist it will be fun to come back to again and again.
