I liked this story of Dinah, the only daughter of Jacob, but I didn't love it. I really enjoy historical fiction but this one was hard for me to follow. Maybe it was the number of various characters, the story overall...I'm just not sure. This has been on my TBR for a long time; I'm glad it's now off!

Dinah is the daughter of Jacob, who married sisters, Leah and Rachel, and had about a dozen sons including Joseph of the many-coloured coat. They all went on to father the Twelve Tribes of Israel. She is only mentioned in the Bible in Genesis, Chapter 34. If you are a Bible reader you know the terrible things that happen to her.

Thank God that's over. 2.5 stars. It was 2 for me up until the final 60 pages or so.

Beautiful book if you love to read about menstruating, childbirth and mothering.
