I'm not much for religion, but I love historical fiction. I was shocked at how much I enjoyed this book. It read super fast for me and I really enjoyed it. I wouldn't mind reading it again.

An excellent piece of historical fiction about ancient times. The story follows the life of Dinah, who is mentioned in passing in Genesis. This is not at all religion-infused, though - you won't find Jewish or Christian messages here. Dinah is very much a real person with daily struggles and interests.
At times I felt this was a bit too chronological (is that a thing?) - "We did this for a year and then this for two and then this happened..." but on the whole I was fascinated by the way of life ...more
