When I first read this I was about the same age as Anne was when she began her diary. I re-read it in the 1990s after I visited Amsterdam and the Anne Frank House. I’m so glad I revisited it yet again.
What an extraordinary young woman Anne Frank was! I’m struck with how honest she is in recording her observations, thoughts, dreams, hopes, frustrations. She literally comes alive on the page. I’m sure this is in part because she never expected anyone to read these pages. This gave h ...more

A very interesting read. For nearly the first half of the book, Anne was just angry and raged about nearly everything and then suddenly, she grew up or, at least, was doing some 'growing up'. The change in tone & topic were the evidence of this. Of course, being an adolescent in a "locked down" with the same people will drive one crazy - it's no wonder, there were a lot of tiffs.
