I know a lot of people that read this in high school, but I was not given the opportunity, so I am glad to say that I have now read it. Despite all of the terror going on in Anne's world, she still talks about everyday teenage concerns- boys, sex, and puberty. She also examines her surroundings and takes note of the individuals she is in hiding with and how difficult it is to be in close proximity with all of these people. Anne Frank, especially considering her age and she probably never expected her diary to be as well-published and well-read as it is today, was a very talented writer. This book opened up a first-hand account of the Holocaust for me. I read it during senior year of high school, yet it made connections for me 2 years prior during world history. I think everyone should read this once. Another book I would recommend that is similar, but from a boy's perspective and written for a pre-adolescent reade
