The Thirteenth Tale is told in the creaky and creepy old tradition of Victorian gothic novels. The synopsis is accurate enough to not require a re-hash or clarification. What kept me going was the insane love affair that Ms. Setterfield described in the most loving and intimate manner. As every reader knows it is the insane love of books!

I really liked this book. It wasn't at all what I expected. However, I was mildly disappointed in the ending. I hate it when books attempt a quick wrap up.
