This is one of the latest Nora Roberts' standalone novels and a good one.
I have never heard about smokejumpers who fight the forest fires jumping out of the plane into the heart of the fire. So exciting! I really enjoyed the competent descriptions about the training, living and adrenaline filled job they do fighting the fire in most difficult conditions. This job is truly dangerous, demands special skills and qualities only the bravest or craziest adrenaline chunkies can take on.

I have a love/hate relationship with Ms Roberts books - and I'm happy to say that this one was a love. I loved the characters, the mystery and the fire fighting. Great read!
