Not my favourite book by Quick, but I really enjoyed it. Like most of her novels, which I find hard to stop in the middle of, I read it all in one sitting. I just can't put them down until they are done!
I was very sick of hearing about the Northumberland Ballingers, since the heroine seems to bring it up at least once a conversation, but she is quirky, amusing, and not meekly submissive (most of the time) so the annoyance was minimal.

Augusta has always been "an original" and has been floundering after her family's deaths. Harry is back from the war and searching for a suitable wife.
What I enjoyed:
* Harry and Augusta are good influences on each other as he is a bit stuck in the mud and she is a free spirit. They also communicate, which is so important.
* Augusta immediately takes to Harry's daughter household (just as she had to her uncle and cousin). She just seems to want everyone to be happy
* Pompeia - a ladies club fashion ...more
