I didn't care much for Marissa; she was too needy. The ending was ridiculous; it was like being tuned into your favorite TV show, not noticing anything amiss, and the show somehow turning into The Twilight Zone.

I basically inhaled the first three books in BDB series. The fourth book didn't go that well. I must say that Butch and Marissa are my least favorite couple so far. I just don't like his character – miserable, depressed alcoholic and Marissa, for a hundreds of years old vampire, she was really clueless about the life in general. Weird that she suddenly became so businesslike overnight. So, I guess, they suited each other good, I just didn't get the spark between them.
