This wasn't the worst thing I've ever read, however it wasn't a literary masterpiece either. It went quick because honestly it wasn't what I would call very taxing on the brain. Vampires, sex, crime, a brotherhood, more sex, a couple of women, some more sex, a bad guy or two, and did I mention the sex? I think if you eliminated all the sex you would have cut the book in half. I think it would have been a better book as well. Some of the stuff in here was really unbelievable...seriously unbelieva ...more

4 stars. I remember really enjoying this when I first read this four years ago and I enjoyed it a lot now. This was a great read and a fun start to the series.

I really like J.R. Ward's writing and the setting of this book was very scenic and I had no trouble picturing the big city life.

Beth has lived her life feelin like she doesn't fit in. Her parents died when she was born and she lived in foster homes until she was 18.

Her life is turned upside down when she meets Wrath. The gorgeous and dangerous king of the vampires. Turns out vampires are not created they are born. Vampires don't suck human blood they suck female vampire blood.

The book was not bad but I felt like I had read it before.
