Totally not what I expected from a young adult book touted as a sci-fi romance-because it's not a romance at all (unless you count awkward teenage angst as romance, which I don't). This is a story about what happens when one single person is given control over what a population feels, thinks and does over generations. And it happens to be set on a spaceship with a 300 year travel time. This poses some interesting scientific ethical questions (genetic engineering, forced breeding, etc). Not sure

Some parts of the book are really interesting. Building of the history and current situation are very interesting and I would like to hear about that more. Some parts aren't really explained enough, sometimes is something just mentioned, but I would like to hear more about. When we came to the last third of the book, whole happening is really too fast. I don't know why the ending needed to be so soon and I just didn't get what I wanted to hear and "experience"...
