This was an interesting twist to the typical dystopia book set on a spaceship bound for a new planet. Switches between Elder and Amy's POV. Page turner after Chapter 60, if you have the fortitude to hang in there until then.

I thought this was an entertaining read. I haven't read too many young adult books that are actually science fiction, that is actually set in space. The beginning section has convinced me that I do not want to sign up for cryogenic freezing anytime soon.
I liked getting the two different viewpoints. It gave me a sense of what I may have thought (more like Amy), someone who hadn't grown up on a ship and also those of one who didn't know anything else beyond the ship (Elder). The society ...more

So wish I could give this more stars. The basic plot is good - people are cryogenically frozen on Earth and loaded on a massive spaceship heading on a centuries-long journey to colonize a new planet "across the universe." One is a family - mother, father and teenage daughter. 4.5/5 might have gave it a 5 if I hadn't figured out what was going to happen from almost the beginning. But it was a very refreshing read and can't wait for the next one.
