My original review in 2013 I am in LOVE with the Hathaways.
My reread review in 2017 Of course I fondly remember snippets of Poppy and Harry's story, which played out so very different from her sisters' HEA.
Well worth revisiting them again. Still 5 stars!

I loved Poppy (although not so much the name.) Poppy Hathaway has been in love with Michael Bayning,a man whose father would not approve of Poppy, so they've been keeping things secret and biding their time until Michael can convince his father to let him marry her. While chasing her sister's ferret through the Rutledge hotel, Poppy meets the owner, Harry Rutledge, who decides he must have Poppy. I really love that whenever I read a Lisa Kleypas book, I don't feel like I'm stuck in "just a typical historical romance." I absolutely loved Poppy; although she was a little boring, I felt like that was maybe intentional. I will admit I think Harry could have been a little better developed as a character; he did too much of a 180 in the end for my liking. Otherwise, I absolutely adored this book.
