Pretty standard cozy mystery - the only difference is that this book treats the White House kitchen as any old kitchen where random people can walk in and out with no trouble or even permission required.

White House Assistant Chef Olivia Paras is a bit late for work due to an errand. Her boss, Henry, is retiring and she stopped to pick up his retirement gift, an inscribed frying pan. After she passes the checkpoint she sees a man running towards her with two Secret Service agents in pursuit.
